                                                      Rangpur ABOUT Department of Rangpur in north-west of Bangladesh It is located in the area of 16317 square kilometers. The geography of Rangpur region includes the Teras region of Plaisostein. There are 8 districts in this division namely - Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari , Rangpur, Kurigram, Dinajpur , Thakurgaon, Panchagar and Gaibandha .  Among the 11 sectors of the War of Liberation, Rangpur was in Sector 6. Literacy rate among the districts is 33.85%. The country's first organic tea garden was established in 'Kazi & Kazi' tea estates in Panchagarh in 2000.
