ABOUT


Department of Sylhet in north of Bangladesh. It is located in the area of 12, 596 square kilometers. The geographical area of Sylhet is include Tursi era mountains land. There are 4 districts in this division namely - Sunamganj, Sylhet, Hobiganj, MoulovibazarAmong the 11 sectors of the War of Liberation, Sylhet was in Sector 4 and 5. Literacy rate among the division is 37.25%. Sylhet's Moulvibazar district produces the most tea produced in Bangladesh. The highest rainfall in Bangladesh is Lalkhan in Sylhet.

Satchari National Park
Hobiganj - Baniachong ( Largest village in Asia Continant), Satchari National Park (Satchari national park is a natural park of Bangladesh. After the 1974 Wild Life Preservation Act, in 2005 Satchari National Park was built on 243 hectares (600 acres) of land. Literally ‘Satchari’ in Bengali means ‘Seven Streams’. There are seven streams flowing in this jungle, and the name ‘Satchari’ came from there. There are 9 tea gardens nearby. Satchari tea garden is on the Westand Chaklapunji tea garden is in the East.)

Sylhet - Ratargul swamp forest ( It is the only swamp forest located in Bangladesh and one of the few freshwater swamp forest in the world. The forest is naturally conserved under the Department of Forestry, Govt. of Bangladesh ), Jaflong ( Jaflong is famous for its stone collections and is home of the Khasi tribe ), Bichanakandi ( In recent years there has been an influx of tourists to its river ), Hajrat Shah Jalal's shrine ( Shāh Jalāl ad-Dīn al-Mujarrad al-Naqshbandi  popularly known as Hazrat Shah Jalal (1271 CE – 15 March 1346 CE), is  a known celebrated Sufi Muslim figure in Bengal. Jalal's name is associated with the spread of Islam into north-eastern Bengal through Sufism, part of a long history of travel between the Middle East, Persia, Central Asia and South Asia ), Hajrat Shah Paran's shrine ( Shah Paran was an Islamic saint and Sufi of the Jalalia section of the Suhrawardiyya order. He was the nephew of Shah Jalal 
Jaflong

and was born in Hadramaut, Yemen, and accompanied his uncle, Shah Jalal, with whom he arrived in India in 1303 AD. He is associated with the spread of Islam in the region what is now Bangladesh. He took part in the expedition of Sylhet which was led by Shah Jalal ), Fenchuganj fertilizer factory. Keane Bridge ( The Keane Bridge is a notable landmark of Sylhet city, Bangladesh. This bridge is called the gateway to Sylhet city. This bridge is located over the Surma River at the middle of Sylhet city which is 246 kilometres (153 mi) northeast of Dhaka, the capital of 

Hazrat Shah Jalal's Shrine

This bridge was built in 1936 and is named after Sir Michael Keane who was the English Governor of Assam from 1932 to 1937.)  Ali Amjad's Clock (Symbol of sylhet city Ali Amjad's Clock is the oldest clock tower located on the bank of Surma River in Sylhet , Bangladesh .It is known as "the Big Ben of Sylhet " and is a popular attraction, near to the Keane Bridge . The tower was constructed in 1872 by Ali Amjad's Father just two years before he was born.Ali Amjad was the landlord of former Prithimpasha estate in Sylhet whose Ancestors were from Isphani,Iran.),

Moulovibazar -
 Madhobkundo waterfall ( Highest waterfall in Bangladesh. 
It is situated in Barlekha Upazila in Moulvibazar District, Sylhet Division. The waterfall is a popular tourist spot in Bangladesh ), Hakaluki haor ( Hakaluki haor is one of the major wetlands of Bangladesh. With a land area of 18, 386 hectares, it supports a rich biodiversity and provides direct and indirect livelihood benefits to nearly 190, 000 people. This haor was declared an Ecologically Critical Area in April 1999 by the government of Bangladesh.
Lawachara National Park




 Hakaluki haor is bounded by the Kushiara river as well as a part of the Sonai-Bardal river to the north, by the Fenchuganj-Kulaura railway to the west and to the south, and by the Kulaura-Beanibazar road to the east. The haor falls under two 
administrative districts, Moulovibazar and Sylhet. ), Kulaura pahar, madhob temple, Lawachara National Park (Lawachara National Park is a major national park and nature reserve in Bangladesh. The park is located at Kamalganj Upazila, Maulvi Bazar District in the northeastern region of the country.),
Ham Ham Watrfall


 Ham Ham Waterfall (Hum Hum is a waterfall in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. It was discovered in 2010. It is situated in Razkandi reserve forest, Maulvibazar district, Sylhet. The height of the fall is about 147 to 160 feet.), Madhabpur Lake.

Sunamganj - Tanguar Haor ( Tanguar haor, located in the Dharmapasha and Tahirpur upazilas of Sunamganj District in Bangladesh, is a unique wetland ecosystem of national importance and has come into international focus. The area of Tanguar haor including 46 villages within the haor is about 100km2 of which 2,802.36 ha2 is wetland. It is the source of livelihood for more than 40,000 people. The Government of Bangladesh declared Tanguar haor as an Ecologically Critical Area in 1999 considering its critical condition as a result of overexploitation of its natural resources. In 2000, the hoar basin was declared a Ramsar site - wetland of international importance. ).

Hason Raja Museum ( Hason Raja was born on 1854 in Sunamganj. His old house is situated at the bank of Surma River in the Tegharia area of Sunamganj Sadar. It is now been converted as a museum and a well known tourist place in the city. Hason Raja was actually an aristocrat Zamindar. But he won a lot of people’s heart by writing an enormous number of lyrics. After listening to his song, famous poet Rabindranath Tagore send him wishful letter. His tomb was situated in their family graveyard in Gazir Dorga area, Sunamganj where his mothers tomb was there too ).
